James Holland, historian and author
“History isn't a dusty subject. It's the most exciting story ever told — and it's happening right here.”

— James Holland, Co-Founder

The Chalke History Festival was founded on a simple belief: history should be accessible, exciting and alive. Today it is the UK's largest history festival — and a charity dedicated to keeping that belief at its heart. It brings together the best and brightest historians, speakers, living historians, performers and musicians to celebrate the power of the past.
