Chalke Valley History Festival has dedicated children's programming throughout the week.
Children under 16 attend free when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Our children's programme runs across all six days with activities designed for ages 5 to 16.
All children's activities are included in the standard festival ticket — no additional booking required unless specified.

Hands-on living history displays and re-enactments. Meet knights, Romans, and World War II soldiers up close.
Story Time
Author readings and storytelling sessions for younger children. Check the daily programme for times.
Workshops
Craft and history workshops — from Roman pottery to codebreaking. Suitable for ages 7 and up.
Young Historians
Special Q&A and talk sessions designed for secondary school pupils and teenage history enthusiasts.
